OBJECTIVE:Aimed at providing comprehensive care with focus on Health Promotions and Prevention by doing Annual and periodical and Total (Head to foot) Health Checkup free of cost for all the citizens of Sikkim from village to State level.

DESCRIPTION: CATCH is basically a focus on the study of area wise data on morbidity of all people for taking effective action to improve their Health Status (Including Physical, Social, Mental and Spiritual) and morbidity (illness) status. CATCH will also help the people to maintain good health by spotting potential problems in their early stages, prevent long term illness through early diagnosis and treatment and also attempt to provide Rehabilitative and comprehensive health care. So far, 90 per cent of the population in Sikkim has been covered under CATCH to compile their health profile. Under CATCH program cards having a barcode reader are been issued to the people of Sikkim on which it contain the detail health information. Collectively the health care providers and community will be able to know their community diagnosis and also take appropriate collective interventions to improve their health status. Appropriate recording in family folder and individual case sheets and data analysis will be done which will be developed into microchip based smart health card containing health profile of each individual in a family. The data also will be analysed Gram Panchayat Ward wise, Sub Centre, PHC, District and state wise in order to take up Community Intervention after making proper community Diagnosis. Meticulous planning, appropriate implementation and effective monitoring and evaluation will be done by CATCH Committee at various levels and by CATCH Cell of Health Department. High powered Committee chaired by Chief Minister of Sikkim and Health minister, Executive Committee and Technical Committee in the State, district and area level committee will be formed to plan, execute, monitor all the components of CATCH at different levels to ensure its success

OUTCOME/IMPACT: Sikkim achieved the health status as par with that of many developed countries. Number of PHCs and PHSCs covered till today: PHSCs: 180 PHCs: 34

IMPLEMENTATION STATUS: 90 per cent of the population in Sikkim has been covered under CATCH
