Description

Rainfall is an important indicator for monitoring crop situation in a drought/Flood year. Prediction of a drought like situation and early warning required to be issued to farmers/public as early as possible to face a natural calamity. Analysis of rainfall is also required for long term agricultural planning. For this purpose a comprehensive database of the Rainfall with timely collection from the Rain recording stations and immediate analysis is necessary. Orissa Rainfall Monitoring System is an effort to transform the existing manual system to a technology based online system. Achievements 1. Comprehensive Database of Rainfall 2.
