  • Kanker District profile
    • Description:

      During June 2000,one more NIC district centre Kanker is connected to NICNET, one of the biggest Satellite based Computer Network of India in government sector. This is a place where Satellite based computer network exists in the Districts. Very soon, this centre became popular within Administrative Staff, government, non government sector and in public also of Kanker District through its effective monitoring projects, computer training programs, E-mail services and internet facilities. Although Kanker is a developing district but it is backward in internet facility which is a strongest medium of information transferring in these days but NIC has solved this problem as possible as. Now NIC is providing the better E-mail services to all government sectors. with this facility the time and expenditure are both reduced and also they are getting quick and current information, most of official letters and reports of district are being sent by NIC.

  • ESI Scheme - Software Requirement Specification (SRS)
    • Description:

      The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), a corporate body duly constituted under the Parliament Act, has the mandate to provide health insurance to employees of factories and establishments covered under the ESI act. The services include health care facilities and cash benefit as compensation to insured persons of about 2.5 lakh factories and establishments registered through 34 regional offices. The SRS for the proposed application, which would be a combination of web based and Client-Server architecture, captures critical information on Monitoring & Management of Services of ESI Schemes.

  • Genprofits (GPF computerisation for J&K )
    • Description:

      GenProfits is the Computerised system developed for the automation of the GP Fund Department of J&K. The employees of GP Fund Department distributed over 22 District Fund Offices are fully trained to handle the operations of the software. Each Fund office enters the subscription data of the J&K State Government employees of their respective districts, compiles the same and at the end of every year after the proper closing hands over the same to be hoisted on a server. The information of the subscribers data base is then shown via the website. All the complex calculations are done through the software and the end result is the printing of Ledger Cards and the registers which are required for the maintenance of the record. This reduces the time lag in maintenance of huge and voluminous printing and hence the subscribers get the information well in time and there is no scope of calculation errors which are otherwise possible if these calculations are done annually.The changes and updations in the software are incorporated from time to time as per the policies framed by the Government of J&K. The project was developed after the same was tested and approved by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir on a pilot basis in The Civil Secretariat. The Government of Jammu and Kashmir after testing the software to their satisfaction, approved Rs 170.00 lakhs for the procurement of hardware and software for all the Fund Offices of J&K.

  • e Courts Project
    • Description:

      The eCourts Integrated Mission Mode Project is one of the national eGovernance projects being implemented in High Courts and district/subordinate Courts of the Country. The project has been conceptualized on the basis of the “National Policy and Action Plan for Implementation of Information and Communication Technology in the Indian Judiciary-2005” by the eCommittee of the Supreme Court of India. The project is being implemented by National Informatics Centre (NIC). In J&K, the project covers the two wings of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, 22 District Courts and 54 Taluka Courts. The basic infrastructure for ICT enablement consists of various modules such as setting up of LAN and Hardware, deployment of Case Information Software (CIS) application software, and establishment of WAN / broadband connectivity.

      Overview of Services The NIC–Haryana State Centre (NIC-HarSC) has been providing Value Added ICT services and implementing key ICT initiatives & e-Governance Projects in Haryana and has been functioning as a Technology partner of the Haryana Secretariat for Information Technology and Government of Haryana. The NIC-HarSC is facilitating the line departments and assisting them on all technical aspects. The joint efforts of State DEIT, NIC-Haryana State Centre, state government line departments and Hartron on conceptualization, strategic planning, design & development of key ICT initiatives and deployment, capacity building and implementation of ICT / e-Governance projects & services, significantly helped Haryana in; (a) Spreading ICT awareness & usage across entire state of Haryana, (b) Bringing transparency & accountability in delivery of Citizen services & (c) Raising image of Haryana in e-Governance at National and International levels, The key ICT initiatives and successful implementation of various e-Governance projects, extensive information compilation, documentation, interactions with Jury Panels & Survey Teams, organizing field visits and demonstration of e-Governance best practices significantly helped the state to receive more than 25 prestigious National/ State Awards / Accolades. The NIC–HrSC has been pro-actively providing Value Added ICT services and implementing key ICT initiatives & e-Governance Projects in Haryana.       The machinery of all government departments depends on ICT that continues to transform government business and services to meet peoples’ expectations for better services to create more transparent government. Productivity can be increased using three priorities – deliver better services, engage openly and improve government delivery system. Each department needs to build capability in government to better meet peoples need and deliver improved services which can be fulfilled by use of NIC. NIC cell at Planning Commission is committed and is delivering better services through more effective use of the ICT capabilities. Being an ICT based technological solution and service provider, NIC – Yojana Bhavan Unit is providing most of the information technology related hardware, software, network related infrastructural, video-conferencing, web-based Management Information System (MIS) and database development / software applications needs of the Planning Commission.   • On-line Paperless admissions in AICTE approved Professional Courses
    • Description:

      To ensure the quality teaching-learning process in Technical Institutions, right from entry of the student through competition, streamlining of admissions is one of the important parameter. With this view and to resolve the generic problems faced by the candidates, their parents and state administration during Entrance test/counseling/admissions in all technical courses in the state, the Govt decided to make admissions in B.E./ B.Tech/ B.Arch on the basis of inter-se merit of AIEEE conducted by CBSE and in MBA courses on the basis of MAT conducted by AIMA. Admissions in rest of the courses were decided to be made on the basis of merit of state entrance tests. To bring in 100% transparency and to make the admissions highly cost effective and to minimize the travel by the candidates and parents, it was decided to give up the manual counseling system and adopted modern web based On-line Off-campus multi counseling system on the other hand it was also decided to conduct online paperless entrance test for MCA, Pharmacy, Hotel Management and Lateral Entry Courses (Engineering & Pharmacy) for conducting state level entrance tests for enhanced transparency & efficiency for making merit based admissions under the aegis of newly constituted "Haryana State Counseling Society" (HSCS). Key words: 1. Online Registration from any internet point for Entrance tests 2. Filling of Choices of Examination Centre, Date & shift for appearing in the entrance test. 3. Online Downloading of admit card 4. Publishing of inter-se-merit on the website 5. Online Choice filling while registering for counseling from any internet point 6. Change, delete, add choices with respect to courses and institutions 7. Seat allotment and downloading of admission letter 8. Reporting in the allotted institutions and updation of data by the institutions. The National Informatics Centre (NIC), is entrusted to accomplish the task of software development, testing & implementation of Paperless entrance examination & web based On-line off-campus counseling i.e. paper less admissions to all technical courses (Engineering, MBA, MCA, Pharmacy, Hotel Management & Diploma level courses). The project is being executed for last three years successfully by the user department. During 2006-07 more than 31000 seats were allotted whereas in the session 2007-08 more than 50.000 seats were allotted due to increase in number of institutions. For that more than 2,00,000 lacs applications processed during the project by the joint endeavors of NIC and Department of Technical Education Haryana.. An excerpts from the message of Hon'ble CM Haryana on successful completion of the project during 2006-07 session: " The Haryana is the first to introduce "on-line off-campus" counseling for all technical courses including post–graduate, under graduate and diploma education...the efforts put in by NIC & the Department of Technical Education Haryana and Haryana State Counseling Society for conducting transparent & hassle free admissions deserves appreciation..."

  • Haryana Pensions Processing Information - Enhancing Transparency and Empowering Citizens
    • Description:

      Haryana government has been providing financial assistance, under social security schemes through department of Social Justice and Empowerment, in the form of monthly pension, to citizens who are unable to sustain themselves from their own resources and are in need of financial assistance. To improve the public services delivery system, Haryana Pensions Processing Information System was developed by NIC and implemented 10 years ago. Over the time, more schemes included covering 9 schemes & now having more than 20.60 lakh beneficiaries across Haryana and record of each beneficiary is available online. In the year 2010, it was decided to introduce Electronic Benefits Transfer directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries under Financial Inclusion scheme of RBI (Reserve Bank of India), using the Banks Business Correspondent model for disbursement to the right beneficiaries at right time using Biometric based Smart Card from the nearest customer service point manned by BC of bank. Also the scheme effectively contributed in filtering out the duplicates and ineligible beneficiaries. This paper briefly describes process re-engineering, standardization & reforms carried out for Financial Inclusion, EBT & ICT interventions, challenges and strategy for Effective electronic service delivery in disbursement of financial assistance under Social Security Schemes.
