Dokriani Bamak (Bamak is the local name of the glaciers) is another well developed medium-sized glacier of the Bhagirathi basin. The glacier is formed by two cirques, originating at the northern slope of Draupadi-ka-Danda and Jaonli peak, 5600m and 6000m respectively. Uttarakhand receives Web Ratna Awards 2012 Awards

Uttarakhand has been conferred with the prestigious Web Ratna Awards 2012 award by the

Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, GOI

for the year 2012. The award was given in the category - National, for the project E-Governance in Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan- “A step towards Citizen Service”, developed by Uttarakhand.

  • Online system for registration of unemployed persons in Uttarakhand
    • Online employment portal department of employment redesigned as per current needs of the department. Online system is redesigned so that the user friendly facilities to unemployed persons seeking jobs to get them registered from anywhere at anytime. In online system job seekers are not required to come to employment exchanges in order to feed their details. Their details can be filled up online from anywhere at anytime convenient to candidate using internet facilities. Their physical presence at employment exchanges may not be required in order to get them registered unless they are asked for.

  • Computerisation in Transport department
    • Implementation of Vahan and Sarathi in the state of Uttarakhand. VAHAN and SARATHI projects have been implemented in all fifteen RTOs/ARTOs (Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Haldwani, Udham Singh Nagar, Pauri, Kotdwar, Almora, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Karan Prayag, Rudraprayag, Tanakpur, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar). Creation/maintenance of State register for Vehicle Registration and Driving licenses for the State of Uttarakhand. Earlier the state register was showing only UK series of records for RCs and DLs. UA series was in use when state was named as Uttaranchal. Now state and national register contains all the records of the RCs and DLs.

  • e-District Uttarakhand
    • E-district is one of the twenty seven Mission Mode Projects under NeGP under the Department of IT, GoI. eDistrict aims at providing support to the basic administrative unit i.e. “District Administration” to enable content development of G2C services, which would optimally leverage and utilize the three infrastructure pillars, to deliver services to the citizen at his doorstep. E-district is a Mission Mode project under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) which proposes to adopt an integrated approach for delivery of citizen services by district administration through automation of backend, workflow based on process redesign and data digitization across participating departments. District Administration in the context of e-District refers to the administrative set-up led or coordinated by the District Collector / Magistrate including Subdivision / Tehsil / Block / Village level units responsible for service delivery. In the long run, the services are expected to be delivered via the proposed Common Services Centres (CSCs) scheme under the National e-governance Plan (NeGP) of the Government of India. Five service categories have been identified by DeGS which shall be taken up for implementation in e-District Pauri as pilot. (i) Issue of Certificates including services : Domicile, Character, Caste, Income, Solvency, Hill Area, Uttarjivi, Birth, Death etc. (ii) Social Welfare Schemes including services – Social welfare Pensions (Old age, Widow and Handicap) (iii) Revenue Court including services – including Final order copy, daily cause list, Case Status details. Government dues and recovery, changes in khatauni & mutation process etc. (iv) Panchayat Raj- Pariwar register copy , pariwar register entry (v) Disaster management – Compensation for damage due to disaster & (vi) Ration Card related services including services change of address, additions, deletions of members, application for issue of duplicates, etc.

    • Accountant General Portal Uttarakhand has the following on line services: 1. GPF On Line :GPF on line software has been developed in Dot Net, database is in Oracle on Linux platform and implemented for approx. 1 lakh subscribers of State Govt. The ADVANTAGE OF GPF ONLINE SERVICE is 1.No need to wait for Account Slip 2.Less dependency on D.D.O. 3.No need to wait for a year to know the current status 4.Easier way for redressal of grievances 5.Great transparency 2. On Line Reconciliation Feedback: .A web based module for Reconciliation Feedback of CCO has been developed and implemented for Principal Accountant General Uttarakhand 3. On Line Status of GPF & Pension: The payment of GPF & Pension is also available on line and payment related orders can also be seen on line. 4. On Line Grievances Redressal : Any employee/pensioner can register their grievance on line and he will get registration number. Through this registration number he can know the action against his grievance. Department has given this service high priority and solving the grievance with in 24 hour. 5. SMS Service: Pull and Push SMS Services are being given to employees/pensioners related to GPF. Any employee can register their mobile number in this portal and then he will get monthly SMS of his GPF subscription, Opening Balance etc. He can also send SMS for getting his GPF details viz. Opening Balance, Subscription, Debit, Missing entry etc. through pull sms service.

    • Master Data was created and customised the portal as per Uttarakhand State requirements. Hierarchy of the employees were created so that the portal is having same work flow as of department. Categorised schools as per sugam, durgam etc. Roles of the all the employees were created for the smooth running of the portal. Software was customised based on the requirement of Uttarakhand Education Department. Data pertaining to all the employees (67650) of Education Department has been fed in to the portal. Information of all Office (141) & School (19290) has been fed into the portal . Controlling units were provided user id and passwords. Portal is working at URL http://educationportal.uk.gov.in/
