Jammu And Kashmir

The NIC Jammu and Kashmir was established in the year 1988 and by 1989 all the fourteen districts were covered including the two tribal districts of Leh and Kargil. The ICT services are being provided to Administration, Judiciary and Assembly. The NIC J&K has provided support to the J&K Government by undertaking the development and implementation of a number of innovative e-Governance projects thereby enhancing the Government reach to their Citizens. These eGovernance projects are not only making the lives of the citizen easier by taking government services to their doorsteps, but have also made the administration quick, responsive, transparent, hassle-free, and easily accessible.

These eGovernance initiatives cover the entire spectrum of interfaces – G2G, G2C & G2E. Majority of these initiatives are aimed at bridging the digital divide and to extend the many potential benefits of ICT to people residing in remote and far flung areas of the state, in particular, to improve their social, economic and cultural well being of the state. NIC J&K Head Office, Jammu remains functional throughout the year.

NIC Move office is located at Civil Secretariat Srinagar which remains functional from May to October every year during Darbar move to Srinagar. Officers posted at NIC J&K Head Office, Jammu are being sent to Srinagar to provide support to Civil Secretariat Srinagar during Darbar Move Period (6 months).
