NIC provides computer support to all the Central Government Departments, State Government Departments and District Administration.
NIC has set up a Local Area Networks (LAN) in Central Government Departments and State Government Secretariats. Government LAN Service helps to connect various Government Departments located across States and Union Territories for Providing & Email, Internet, File Transfer etc.

- Over 5,00,000 active nodes in States across over 8,000 locations
- LAN at e-Courts, IVRFT, CBI, CGHS, PAO, Defense Estate and FCI Site(s)
- Access to NICNET through Wi-Fi in various Central Government Offices
- 680+ District level LANs
NIC has been training the Government Employees on a regular basis to enable them use computerized MIS and Databases; up to the district level.
